MEET THE ART MAKERS
Independent art makers and longtime friends, filmmaker Claudia and photographer Michelle teamed up to shine the light on females in Australian music.
The initial concept for Her Sound, Her Story came from observing the constant conversation about gender inequality and imbalance within the music industry and the arts in general. Believing in the power of art and it's capacity bring people together as well the importance of storytelling, the project was born.
Michelle and Claudia's passion and drive to document these women is not only to celebrate their achievements, but to inspire future generations of young women to achieve greatness themselves.
CLAUDIA SANGIORGI DALIMORE

Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore is a multidisciplinary creative artist working in film, photography and dance in Melbourne, Australia. Known for her diverse range of skills in film production from art direction, editing, producing, cinematography, as well as choreography, costume and set design. Her longstanding relationship with non-for-profit organisation Multicultural Arts Victoria has engaged her with a diverse community of artists locally and internationally.
Claudia's fascination with storytelling and cultural exchange stems from her experiences in growing up surrounded by the vibrant and diverse arts community of Melbourne. She has facilitated dance, photography and film workshops across myriad festivals, community events and youth initiatives. Aria award nominated for best video of the year for Mojo Juju’s “Native Tounge” music video, the clip also took out,“2018 Best Music video of the year” in the annual Tripple J awards. As a music video maker she has collaborated with artist including Kaiit, Odette, Meg Mac and Thelma Plum. She has made community-based short-form documentary and educational videos for World Vision Vanuatu, Desarts and Papunya Tjupi Arts Centre.
A four-year collaboration with Michelle Grace Hunder, Her Sound Her Story is a vital part of Claudia's ongoing contribution to the evolving conversation about women in Australian music. In 2018 Claudia received the Canon Australia film maker award acknowledging her continuous contributions to film making within the Australian music industry.
MICHELLE GRACE HUNDER

In eight short years, Michelle Grace Hunder has become one of Australia's most respected music photographers as her live performance and portrait images come under increasing demand by Australian and international artists.
Her personal journey into the world of Australian hip-hop was published in 2015 as RISE, a self- published photographic book which was admitted to the National Film and Sound Archives of Australia.
Michelle's next project was similarly personal: a series of portrait photographs of female music industry identities titled Her Sound, Her Story. With her project partner Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore, she worked with more than 80 women, both in the spotlight and behind the scenes, shooting portraits and interviews for this highly ambitious project.
As part of Melbourne Music Week, Her Sound, Her Story was unveiled in November 2016 as an installation of more than 40 photographs in the Emporium, Melbourne.
The series has since expanded to more than 80 portraits, as Michelle continues to be inspired by women both as legacy artists and new talents on the horizon. Her goal is for the series to be seen as the most important and comprehensive work on this topic to date.
